Insecticides
With any insecticide, please make sure you read and follow all the directions on the label, keep it away from animals and children, check to make sure your municipality allows its use, and ask staff if you have questions about how to use it or require advice on integrated pest management.
BTK
active ingredient: bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki, strain ABTS-51
Mix 30mL per 10L of water.
Controls:
Caterpillars including cabbage worm, tomato hornworm, tent caterpillars, gypsy moth, leafrollers, cankerworm, satin moth, spruce budworm, jack pine budworm, and eastern hemlock looper.
This is a biological insecticide that is most effective when caterpillars first emerge and are small and young, still at the feeding stage. This product will not work on adult moths. BTK will activate in the stomach of the caterpillar so it must be ingested to be effective. After ingestion of a sufficient dose of product, feeding stops immediately and death will follow in 2-5 days.

Insects must be sprayed directly to achieve proper control. For aphids, mealybugs, spider mites and whitefly, apply weekly for 2-3 weeks and thereafter repeat as required. For other insects, apply when they occur and repeat as needed.
Controls: Aphids, earwigs, mealybugs, spider mites, psyllids, rose and pear slugs, soft brown scale and whiteflies.
Directions: Use indoors and in greenhouses on houseplants and outdoors on fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamentals. Not recommended on Ferns, Nasturtiums and Sweet Peas. If in doubt about any delicate plant, test a leaf or two before spraying the complete plant. Do not spray open blooms.

Directions for Use: Shake well before using. Spray Insectigone until damp in areas where these crawling pests may enter or hide such as cracks and crevices, along door sills and baseboards, behind refrigerators, around window and door frames. Hit insects directly where possible. Spray until the surface is damp but not to the point of runoff. Repeat treatment as necessary. Avoid excessive wetting. Do not use in food storage areas or on surfaces that may contact foods.
Directions: Spray on ant trails and nests. Points of entry such as windows and door frames- Cracks and crevices- Floors and baseboards- Under carpets and rugs- Behind shelves and drawers- Pet beds- Storage areas such as chests, closets and bureaus
Directions: Can be used in bird baths, flower planters, discarded tires, ornamental ponds, rain barrels and containerized water near the home. Kills mosquitoes before they're old enough to bite.
Directions: For use inside the house: Place traps 1.5 - 3 m apart where ants are numerous. Use sufficient traps for quick control. Ants enter traps and carry food back to nest to feed colony. Entire colony is usually destroyed. Replace traps as needed. For use outside: Place traps where ants enter dwelling, near ant hills in the lawn or garden 5 metres apart. Do not remove lid of container.
Precautions: Use only in areas inaccessible to children and pets. Do not remove trap lid. AVOID contamination of feed and foodstuffs.
Controls: Ants, cockroaches, houseflies, pillbugs, spiders and sowbugs for up to 14 days on non-porous surfaces (e.g. vinyl flooring). Duration of residual control may decrease when exposed to sunlight. Caution: some floors may be slippery after spraying. For ant control, apply directly to ants, their nests and trails, and wherever ants enter the house. Also controls yellow mealworms, earwigs and yellow jacket wasps when directly applied to the pests. This product can be used in/around household food preparation areas as well as around pets and wildlife.

Directions: Hold container approximately 30 cm from surface being sprayed and spray until wet. Thorough applications produce a coating which will vapourize into cracks and crevices for insect control. If reinfestation occurs, repeat applications as necessary. Unpainted or unsealed concrete surfaces may require repeated application after two weeks if necessary. Provide adequate ventilation after indoor use.
Areas of Application: Indoors and outdoors: cracks, crevices and spots along and behind baseboards, underneath furniture and equipment, around garbage containers, localized areas of floors and floor coverings, frames, doors, window frames, foundations, patios, light fixtures, moist areas, around sinks, drains and pipes, behind cabinets and storage areas, underneath the bed and nightstand.
Controls: Ants, cockroaches, centipedes, millipedes, silverfish, earwigs, crickets and fleas.
Areas of Application: Beneath stoves, garbage cans, attics, basements, garages, sheds, windowsills, doorways, drains and underneath appliances.
Directions:
Indoors and outside where ants are present or where they travel to find food or water.
e.g. Kitchens/Bathrooms/Basements/ Garages/Laundry Rooms).
Common areas to find ants include: along baseboards, in corners of rooms and cabinets, under and behind appliances, under sinks, on window sills, around doorways, or near garbage cans.
Precautions: Do not place stations in areas that have been recently sprayed with insecticide as this may reduce effectiveness.
Keep away from food and drinks, including those for animals.
Place bait station in areas not accessible to children and pets.
Controls: Ants, cluster flies, cockroaches and house flies, fleas.
Directions for Use:
To use as an on-contact solution, simply spray directly on the insect(s) and then use a damp rag to wipe up. To use as a preventative solution, spray in cracks and crevices where bugs typically enter your home every 3-4 weeks.
